Visual Sound V2 Jekyll & Hyde

From its first appearance in 1997, the Jekyll & Hyde was the first pedal to combine two separate effects in one pedal. Now ten years later the new V2 Series gives the same great tone guitarists have come to love plus an added noise reduction system, creating the ultimate guitar dream! Each channel of the newly designed Jekyll & Hyde has separate controls, giving you the ability to use them separately, or together. The Jekyll Overdrive channel improves on the sound of the TS-808 Tubescreamer. With a Bass Boost switch and far more output volume than the original TS-808, this Overdrive far surpasses its predecessor. The Hyde side is a heavier distortion with more bottom end, a separate Mid range control, and even an internal Bass control. All of this adds up to one of the most versatile distortion/overdrive pedals on the planet!

Dimensions: 5" x 6" (126 x 153mm)
Current Draw: 22-30mA

This is an awesome pedal. You get both overdrive as well as distortion in one pedal. There is a good amount of gain. Add it with actives and your ready to shred.

Tech 21 SansAmp Tri AC

Tech 21 SansAmp Tri AC

Digitally programmable, 100% analog signal path

This triple channel rig-in-a-box is a no-brainer solution for players needing three hot tones served up fast and easy. Dial up a tone, double-tap one of the three preset footswitches, and it’s saved. Yeah, it’s that easy. Whatever you want, from country clean to nu-metal dirt, the TRI-A.C. will hand over three flavors of the finest SansAmp tones faster than a drive-thru.

The genuine analog SansAmp circuitry features Drive and Level controls, an active three-band EQ, and three selectable amp voicings:

TWEED = Fender®-style
BRITISH = Marshall®-style
CALIFORNIA = Mesa/Boogie®-style

When you select one of the 3 pre-voiced amp styles, every dimension of each individual personality changes. It is not merely a difference in EQ or gain structure. Each amplifier type has its own tonality and its own input sensitivity. Each interacts differently to the dynamics of your playing style and to the signal level of the instrument.

This is surely one of the best pedals out there. Its NOT a distortion pedal. It is a pre-amp pedal. But it has enough of juice to drive your amp to play killer Metal Riffs.!

Building The Church Tapping Lesson.

Finally here is the lesson to play the intro to "Building The Church" by Steve Vai. The intro is a two-hand tapping riff.

This piece is really cool and simple to play. Many guys must be wondering that its so difficult and all, but no, its really simple/ Its just a mind game...!!!

------10------------10----------10----------10----------10----------10------------10----------
---13------------------13----------------13----------------13------------------13----------13-
---------12------------------12----------------12----------------12------------------12-------
-------------10-----------10----------10----------10----------10------------10----------10----
-----------------12----------------12----------------12------------------12-------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-10----------------
-------------------
----12-------------
-------10----------
-------------------
-------------------

Lets look at the tapping sequence in two part, left hand part and right hand part.

Left hand ( positioned from the top of the neck)
I replaced the right hand notes with "xx" so that you can see what the left hand is actually playing. Isnt it simple..??!! Its nothing but just two alternating notes.!
I suggest just practing your left hand at 100 bpm, keeping it really clean, no additional fret noises, etc.

Your left hand palm acts as the string dampner here.

The left hand sequence is played continously as L2 L1 L2 L1 L2 L1 etc.

       L2 L1 L2 L1 L2 L1 L2 L1 L2 L1 L2 L1 L2 L1
------10-----------10----------10----------10----------10----------10-----------10----------
---xx-----------------xx----------------xx----------------xx-----------------xx----------xx-
---------xx-----------------xx----------------xx----------------xx-----------------xx-------
------------10-----------10----------10----------10----------10-----------10----------10----
----------------xx----------------xx----------------xx-----------------xx-------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  L2 L1
-10----------------
-------------------
----xx-------------
-------10----------
-------------------
-------------------

NEXT,

Right hand
I replaced the left hand notes with "xx" so that you can see what the right hand is actually playing. This is a little complex as compared to the left hand, yet very simple.

Look at this sequence now.

The left right sequence is played continously as R3 R2 R1 R3 R2 R1 R3 R2 R1 R3 R2 R1 R3 R2 R3 R2, etc.

I recommend practicing the right hand sequence at 100 bpm, again, keeping it really clean with no additional fret noises, etc.

    R3 R2 R1 R3 R2 R1 R3 R2 R1 R3 R2 R1 R3 R2 R3
------xx-----------xx----------xx-----------xx----------xx----------xx-----------xx----------
---13-----------------13-----------------13----------------13-----------------13----------13-
---------12-----------------12-----------------12----------------12-----------------12-------
------------xx-----------xx-----------xx----------xx----------xx-----------xx----------xx----
----------------12-----------------12----------------12-----------------12-------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

     R2
-xx----------------
-------------------
----12-------------
-------xx----------
-------------------
-------------------

Once your comfortable with both hands, then follow the next step.

Now use both hands. The trick here is to play alternating fingers of left and right hand.

Ex. L2 R3 L1 R2 L2 R1 L1 R3 L2 R2 ... etc.

Practice this at around 70 bpm. Once u get comfortable, build up speed.

And there you have it.! A Piece of cake isnt it? ;)

Any more questions feel free to ask me.

Line 6 Uber Metal.

Ãœber Metal™ brings you massive amounts of gain in one tiny, tough package. You can chose from some of the best Line 6 high-gain tones from HD147® and Vetta II™ including Metal, Pulverize, and Insane. Also included with the Ãœber Metal is a built-in selectable noise gate, and scoop control for massive tonal contouring.

Model Switch - Give this a flick to reconfigure the destructive power of Ãœber Metal.

Metal - creates screaming distortion, from heavy grind to molten metal! Bow down, infidels.

Pulverize - gives you a distortion similar to a high-gain tube amp. Mmmm, it's warm and meaty!

Insane - has more skin-peeling gain and sustain than anything else available. For the inner Samurai-shredder in all of us.

Level - This sets the output level. Higher levels will hit the amp or effect fed by the Ãœber Metal will more signal level, giving your more volume.

Mid & Scoop - Mid chooses a frequency from 250Hz to 4kHz. Scoop then removes sound at this frequency, with maximum scoop at the fully clockwise setting. Turn it fully counter-clockwise for a slight mid boost.

Drive - This controls the amount of distortion created within your Ãœber Metal. Especially when you've got it set high, you may need to use the Gate to tame unwanted noise.

Bass & Treble - Bass and Treble are controls for your low and high frequencies.

Gate Off - Disables the Gate.

Gate 1 - A soft and mild noise gate, self-adjusting to your current Drive knob setting.

Gate 2 - A heavy, fast-clamping gate. Great for those aggressive metal chords and palm muting.

This is an AWESOME Metal Pedal. Use it on your 7-string and kill everyone with that excess gain. It has good EQs and amazing gain.
